Christmas Tree Lots for Cut Trees
There are several places that you can buy cut Christmas trees, as well as those listed above.
Lowes or Home Depot
Two (2) of the most obvious places to a get a cut Christmas tree are Lowes and Home Depot. Almost every location will have trees during the holiday season. Most locations will allow you to buy a tree every day of the week, and during regular operating hours. That schedule does make it easier than most farms and lots.
Something to note though is be ready for a long wait during the evenings and especially weekends when they are busiest. It can be frustrating to wait, so bring your patience, and a warm jacket since it will be cold outside.
Also note that most Lowes and Home Depot stores do not carry as many varieties of trees. So, if you want a specific type of tree, you will be best served going to a Christmas tree farm like those above.
Another note is that most hardware type stores only carry a limited amount of sizes (heights) of trees, so if you need something very tall, you will want to try elsewhere.
Paul’s Fruit Market
A Louisville favorite Paul’s Fruit Market usually will offer a nice selection of cut trees, and holiday decor. You will want to contact your local Paul’s to find out about selection and sizes available.
You can find a Paul’s near you by using this link.
Christmas Tree Lane
Another favorite place to get a cut tree, and very convenient to downtown Louisville, and the Highlands is Christmas Tree Lane at Waterfront Park.
Offering trees such as Douglas Fir, Scotch Pine, White Pine, Balsam Fir and several Spruce varieties, this has been a great place to find a tree for many for several years. There is nothing like buying your tree, with the looming high-rises of downtown in the distance.
They have other greenery too, but remember best selection is available at the top of the season.
Reardon’s Fruit Market
Located in the heart of Crestwood, Kentucky in Oldham County, Reardon’s Fruit Market has been offering cut Christmas trees since 1979. Family owned and operated this is a local favorite.
To find out tree varieties offered this year, hours of operation, and directions visit the Reardon’t Fruit Market website here.
A Tree Stand for Your Christmas Tree
Of course if you are spending the time and resources to get a beautiful live Christmas tree, you want to make sure you have everything you need for it to be brought home.
One item that is often not thought of until you have already gotten home is the tree stand. (note this is an affiliate link, see information at the bottom of the article, and page)
Remember you can’t just use any stand, since a live tree will need one specifically made for it, since it must have water ALL the time to keep it lush and green.
Below is a selection of great live Christmas tree stands, and these can be received quickly, usually in days direct to your home.
Also, why you are looking at Christmas tree stands for your tree, don’t forget to consider getting a watering stake or system so you can take the guess work out of watering your tree. Also great to have if you plan to travel a lot during the holidays.
Another item that you may want to have on hand is floral (Christmas tree) preservative. I have friends who have used it, and they swear that it makes their trees last longer, and stay greener!
Other Decorations for Your Christmas Tree
Don’t forget the other items you will need for your tree to be brought home and decorated. Below is a selection of ornaments, garland, tinsel and other items you will need.
I hope that you have found this list as helpful, and that you are able to find the perfect live tree for your home this year.
