Why Use Trial & Error, Instead Buy One of the Best Sellers in Leaf Blowers and Vacuums for Fall 2019
Black & Deck Electric Leaf Blower, 7 – Amp (LB700)
This Black and Decker electric leaf blower is one of the top sellers according to Amazon and other websites. Offering a 7 amp motor, moving air at a speed of 180 mph, and only weighing 4.4 pounds, it would be a great choice for someone needing to a blower for weekend tasks.
Personally I wouldn’t suggest it for heavier leaf jobs, but read the reviews, and see what others say. You may find that it is all you need!
Note that this unit does not include the cord, so instead you will want to buy one long enough for your needs. You can get one here, or your local hardware store. (note that links may be affiliate links, learn more here)
Toro 51621 UltraPlus Leaf Blower Vacuum, Variable-Speed with Metal Impeller, 12 amp
This Toro leaf blower costs a bit more than other blowers, but offers a lot for the money. First, it is described as a 3 in 1 machine, which would be a blower, vacuum, and shredder. I had such a unit in the past at my own home, and it was handy to have one that would do all of that.
However, before deciding on a 3 in 1, read the reviews since you may find that is more than you need. I started using all those features when I had a similar machine, and quickly found that for my own yard, just blowing and bagging was enough.
A reminder that this unit does include a lot of accessories, but does not include the cord. You will want to pick one up here, or at your local hardware store, or retailer.
Sun Joe SBJ597E-JSB 6 Amp 155 Max Electric Leaf Blower
Sun Joe isn’t a brand that I am familiar with, but this unit gets great reviews for a small leaf flower. Offered at a very low price, it is very lightweight at only 3.9 lbs.. and does have a top air-speed of 155 mph.
Black & Decker 20V Max Cordless Sweeper
This Black and Decker model is another top choice by consumers, and get great reviews which you can read here.
This blower offers 130 mph air speeds, and this unit like the others is cordless, and operates on a lithium ion battery (buy extras here to make tasks even easier). I have used similar units in the past, and it’s awesome not having to deal with the cord.
Toro 51619 Ultra Blower/Vac Red (Corded)
I had an older model of this unit, and much like it this unit offers a top air speed of up to 250 mph, and has tons of accessories for working in your yard.
WORX WG509 TRIVAC 12 Amp 3-in-1 Electric Blower/Mulcher/Vacuum with Multi-Stage
This WORX model offers an all in one design, not only being a blower, but also a mulcher and yard vacuum. It offers a 12 amp motor, which should offer a good bit of blowing power.
WORX WG520 Turbine 600 12 Amp Electric Lead Blower with Variable-Speed Control
This WORX model is a little less expensive than some of the other models, but does offer a higher capacity air volume to get the job done. This WORX electric leaf blower also includes a 3 year manufacturers warranty in case of any problems in the coming seasons.
Yes, you will want to pick up an extension cord for this WORX model also, but you can pick one up here.
Greenworks Variable Speed Cordless Blower
Another brand that I am not personally familiar with, but one that has a lot of reviews is Greenworks. A top choice, and though more expensive than most on this list, it offers a lot for the money it appears.
This unit offers a top air speed of 150 mph, which is up there with others, and offers a lightweight design, and is cordless. To me being cordless is always a plus, since fighting a cord is never fun. I know from the hard way!
You can buy the unit, with or without the battery charger, and with extra batteries (I would like extra batteries on hand to make the yard day easier) I would suggest buying everything at once, so you will have everything that you need, but that’s up to you.
Cordless Leaf Blower – KIMO 20V Lithium 2-in-1 Sweeper/Vacuum 2.0 AH
The last suggestion on this list is priced in the middle of the pack, but offers multiple features. With this KIMO cordless leaf blower, you get not only a cordless blower, but the charger is also included, and this unit does more than just blow leaves.
Reviews are good on this unit, check them out here. Also, you get some accessories with the unit, to make yard day easy on you!
Now, these are just a few of the best sellers available, but as you know there are a LOT of options, and accessories for leaf blowers, and mulchers. This last may have also changed by the time you read this, so to see what is currently a best seller, you can check those out here.
One of the things that I learned early on when I bought my first home, which ironically had some eleven trees on the property is that you can’t skimp on your blower, or any tool for that matter. I tried to go cheap at first, and paid the price by having to labor all weekend, and never really feeling like the task was done.
No, I am not advocating for spending a lot of money, just to make sure you read the specifications, and reviews so you can pick out the best leaf blower for your situation. It will make life a lot easier, and will certainly give you back some of your weekend, for you to enjoy!
